What is Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action to:

  • end poverty

  • protect the planet

  • improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere

The 17 Goals were adopted by all UN Member States in 2015, as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

This website is based on the open-source Open SDG platform.

Ukraine’s Open SDG Platform was developed by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine in partnership with UNDP in Ukraine as part of the UN’s “Promoting Strategic Planning and Financing of Sustainable Development of Ukraine at both the National and Regional Level” programme, which is funded by the Joint SDG Fund.

The platform was modernised after the updating of Ukraine’s national SDG framework and the approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of the list of SDG indicators in 2024.

The modernisation of the platform was supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine as part of the “Supporting Inclusive Recovery for Resilient and Secure People in Ukraine” project, which is funded by the Government of Japan. Expert support was also provided through the Diia Support Project, which is implemented by UNDP in Ukraine with funding from the Government of Sweden.

The modernisation of the platform was an important step towards ensuring there is transparent and user-friendly access to data on the achievement of the SDGs in Ukraine – particularly in the context of the war and the country’s recovery.
